I love being able to pause and take in views like this ❤️
I think the traffic fairies were being very kind today, as I encountered no congestions or traffic jams – that is a very rare experience, and took me less than 2 hours to get to my destination.
I had a suspiciously very good drive this morning, to do my veterans outreach sessions, and was so ahead of time, that I had time to stop part way and take in the views that I normally have to drive past, but always wished I could slow down, divert off the highway and take a break.
Stepping out of the car, and experiencing the early morning suns warmth on my skin (despite the breeze), whilst being mesmerised by the vibrant colours and scenery was so uplifting.
It got me thinking about how in life, there are times when we take a detour off our planned paths. Sometimes intentional, sometimes on a whim full of curiosity, and sometimes not by our own choice.
Yet regardless of the detours, there are new things and experiences to discover, as well as possibilities you may not have yet considered
Holding the future in an open hand or another way of thinking about it – driving towards the horizon, is one way to develop and sustain hope
Funnily, when I arrived at my destination, one person stopped, looked at me and said “Jenn you look different. You are absolutely glowing today” That was very kind of him to say, and what a way to start to the day 😊
Who knows, taking the time to pause soak up the sun, embrace the views and get curious about the scenery left it’s mark …. or maybe, just maybe, I’m full of joy and curiosity as I get curious about future possibilities, and it is starting to show …
