The road to Bathurst is lighting up, with six weeks to go!
Last week, we began our Drive Your Career journey with a Rearview Check. This week, the headlights are on, curiosity is switched on and we are exploring the second Drive Your Career capability: Headlight Clarity.
Sometimes, the clues are already there. We just need to switch on the headlights and notice them.
Self-clarity does not mean having every career-life answer neatly lined up and ready to go. Sometimes, it begins with noticing the sparks, bright spots and clues that have been there all along but may not yet have received the full-beam treatment.
What enters your beam?
Headlights do not reveal the entire journey. They illuminate enough of the road for us to notice what is immediately ahead and continue moving.
Headlight Clarity works in a similar way. Rather than placing pressure on ourselves to identify one perfect destination or produce a complete career-life plan, we can begin by becoming curious about what is already entering our beams.
A particular activity, conversation, environment, challenge or idea may repeatedly capture our attention. We may notice moments when we feel energised, absorbed, useful or quietly excited about what we are doing. Individually, these clues may seem small. When we begin noticing them, however, they can illuminate patterns and possibilities that were previously difficult to see.
Clarity does not always arrive as one dramatic flash of insight. Sometimes, it develops as we notice where the light keeps returning.
What’s in Your Beams?
This week’s downloadable activity, What’s in Your Beams?, is a creative and hands-on invitation to explore what energises you and what matters to you without needing to have everything figured out first.
You can respond in whatever way works for you: write, draw, add colour or use images. The activity contains the prompts and visual space you will need to explore what appears when you switch on your curiosity.

What you discover may not reveal a job title, a complete plan or one definite destination. It may instead bring a clue, theme or possibility into view that deserves a little more attention.
A little team curiosity spark
